Case Study: The Other Side Academy – Atlanta custom WordPress website development

The Other Side Academy – Atlanta is a nonprofit residential, post-secondary vocational and life skills academy for repeat criminals, as well as men and women struggling to defeat substance addiction and homelessness.
The academy’s comprehensive two-year residential program offers vocational training, education, peer counseling, and mentoring, leadership training and transitional services. .

YouTube video integration and custom CSS styling

This Atlanta-based nonprofit knows the value of video content, and wanted to ensure that videos are presented appropriately to visitors. 

Branding is also important to TOSA, and that entails more than just a logo. Styling and strategic layout of text was important to include in this project. 

Project summary

Triple Crown Creative was able to team up with The Other Side – Atlanta as part of the Spring 2018 Boston 48in48 event. 48in48 connects qualified local nonprofits and skilled marketing and technology professionals to deliver websites and fresh marketing strategies.

The Strategy

Part of the marketing strategy for TOSA was promoting their message through video content. Previous work on the website had also left some text that wasn’t styled to the nonprofit’s style guide, leading to a less than desirable visitor experience.

 

  • First, we tackled the tasks for including video content from TOSA’s YouTube channel. The nonprofit is now able to not only capitalize on the two largest search engines in the world (Google to find their site and YouTube to find their channel), but they can also track analytics and strategically create future content to fit the visitors and customers based on monitored traffic. 
  • Next, we followed the styleguide requested by the nonprofit to fit the visual needs to stay consistent with the brand. We manipulated some custom CSS to style the text on the pages to fit the desired look and feel of the overall website.
